Cultural Bridge
Cultural Bridge is a language learning app made in Montréal. You learn the way people learn when they move somewhere new: first you overhear a real conversation between two people, in a real place, then you step into it and answer for yourself.
How it works
Every scene starts with listening. Two native voices talk at a pace that fits your level, and you can tap any line to see what it means. Then the scene turns to you, with several natural ways to answer at each turn, some comfortable and some a small stretch. The phrases worth keeping go into your Notebook, and your Masterbook maps what you want to be able to do in the language, room by room.
What makes it different
The language is regional, because nobody speaks a neutral language. Spanish is taught as it is spoken in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Spain, French as it is spoken in Québec, and English as it is spoken in Canada, each with voices from that place. What you are taught depends on the language you already speak, so a French speaker learning Spanish is not taught like an English speaker. There are no streaks and no points. Some days you show up and some days you do not, and both are fine.
Who it is for
People with a real reason to speak: a partner's family, a move, a new job, a trip, a community they want to belong to. Cultural Bridge is in a private test by invitation.
Le Pont Culturel, en français
Le Pont Culturel est une application d’apprentissage des langues faite à Montréal. Tu apprends comme on apprend en arrivant quelque part : tu écoutes d’abord une vraie conversation entre deux personnes, puis tu y prends part. La langue est régionale, avec des voix de l’endroit, et ce qu’on t’enseigne tient compte de la langue que tu parles déjà. Pas de séries à maintenir, pas de points. L’application est en test privé, sur invitation.

Cultural Bridge es una aplicación para aprender idiomas hecha en Montreal. Aprendes como se aprende al llegar a un lugar nuevo: primero escuchas una conversación real entre dos personas y después entras en ella. El idioma es regional, con voces de cada lugar, y lo que te enseñamos depende del idioma que ya hablas. No hay rachas ni puntos. La aplicación está en una prueba privada, por invitación.
